Context

A focused browser home.

Akari Tab replaces the default browser new-tab page with a focused shortcut dashboard. It is designed to make frequently used destinations easier to reach without turning the page into a heavy productivity suite.

What I built

A small browser-native tool.

I built the extension structure, shortcut interface, responsive presentation, favicon-based visual cues, and customization flow using lightweight browser-native technologies.

Technology

HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Chrome Extension APIs

  • Custom shortcut dashboard.
  • Automatic favicon retrieval.
  • Responsive interface.
  • Local, privacy-conscious behavior.
  • Simple extension installation.
What this demonstrates

Frontend craft with a narrow purpose.

Frontend craft, browser extension fundamentals, responsive UI implementation, and a preference for focused tools with minimal complexity.
